Members of the community are invited to attend a public comment meeting on Monday, October 30, 2017, outlining the master plan revision for Turner Farm Park in Great Falls, Virginia. The Fairfax County Park Authority will present a draft revision to the park's master plan that takes into account three additional parcels added to the park since the previous master plan. The master plan revision allows for the Resident Curator Program to maintain the historic Turner Farm House and will guide the park's future. The agency would like to gather input on the plan from community members. An outline of the plan will be presented, followed by public comment. The 7 p.m. meeting will be held at the Great Falls Grange, located at 9818 Georgetown Pike, in Great Falls. Speakers are able to sign up in advance by contacting the Public Information Office at 703-324-8662 or via email at parkmail@fairfaxcounty.gov. Speakers will also be able to sign up at the meeting. Individual speakers may speak for three minutes; those representing organizations may speak for five minutes. Each organization may have one primary speaker. Turner Farm Park offers a unique mix of educational and recreational facilities with horseback riding and jumping facilities, a celestial telescope and educational facilities, a playground, trails and natural areas to enjoy. There is also a reservable picnic pavilion/shelter. The 56-acre park is located on the site of the former Turner Dairy Farm at 925 Springvale Road.
