Environment & Parks Committee Meeting

Agenda:

• Erica Carter (Recycling Coordinator, Fairfax County Solid Waste Management Program, Department of Public Works and Environmental Services) will speak about the local confusion on trash pickups and changing recycling policies and markets.
• The Analemma Society will give an update on the observatory and its plans for a large sundial using the flagpole as a gnomon.
• A parent whose family uses the playground behind the Grange will speak about having bathroom facilities installed at the site versus current reliance on the library bathrooms.
• EP will discuss what it should be doing in the coming months to monitor the 9 policy papers that are being developed by the County to focus all decision making through a socio/economic equity lens. At least 2 of the 9 policies being considered are directly relevant to EP.
