Wildlife Management - Deer Mitigation EP Committee

Presentation by Dr. Katherine Edwards the Fairfax County Wildlife Management Specialist who is responsible for implementing wildlife conservation and management programs, including the Fairfax County Deer Management Program and the Canada Geese Management Program, as well as providing guidance to address human-wildlife conflicts. 

She is a Certified Wildlife Biologist®. Dr. Edwards received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Virginia, and her Master’s degree in Wildlife Science and Doctorate in Forest Resources from Mississippi State University.

This presentation to the EP Committee will discuss non-lethal strategies to reduce deer damage in residential landscapes, such as fencing, repellents, and selecting unpalatable or deer-resistant plants.
