This month's program will be on non-lethal strategies to reduce deer damage in residential landscapes, such as fencing, repellents, and selecting unpalatable or deer-resistant plants.
EP's speaker will be Ethan Chapmon, an Assistant Wildlife Biologist with the Fairfax County Police Department’s Wildlife Section. He is responsible for providing technical assistance to the Fairfax County Wildlife Management Specialist and for assisting with the implementation of various wildlife conservation projects and management programs, such as the Fairfax County Deer Management Program and Canada Geese Management Program. He also provides guidance to address human-wildlife conflicts and interactions. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Zoo & Wildlife Biology from Liberty University and a Master’s degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Biology from Clemson University.
